Visiting the family cabin in spring, rather than our usual late summer time, meant we got to see and wonder at the spring flowers. There were still a few trees in bloom in the orchard, and scattered rhododendrons graced the woods, but this Redbud tree was a standout. It sits beside the drive into the cabin next to ours, and I've never seen it in bloom before. What a gift to be in a familiar and loved place, only to discover something new and lovely.
