Most of the spring flowers in the woods near the family cabin are low to the ground, surprises as we walk paths through the woods. But the rhododendrons rise up and fill the woods with beautiful glimpses of pink, fuchsia, white, like little girls in tutus dancing in the wind. This stand of red pine stands on a knoll flooded with light in the springtime. The result is a beautiful collection of rhododendrons that span back decades.
