I saw these Southern Live Oak trees at the Chicago Botanical Garden. Their branches certainly reach out very far away from their trunk! I did this painting in thick oil paint on a 10x8 masonite board. I like using thick oil paint as it gives paintings a luscious texture that can’t be replicated in a print.
