I was gifted a deceased Eastern Bluebird a friend found on the forest floor, so I was able to paint him from life. His feathers were beautiful, and it was a quiet, humbling experience to try and capture the amazing blue of his feathers. This painting is sad, yet I somehow found peace in the experience.
