This is a painting of my favourite beach in Southern Spain. The small island off Sancti Petri is called "Islote de Sancti Petri". It's located in the municipality of San Fernando in the Province of Cadiz. The Island which can be seen from any point along the long stretch of beach is known for its ruined 17th Century Castle which was built on the site of the ancient Phoenician and Roman Temples. The tower of the Castle has been rebuilt and is now used as a lighthouse.
