Scratchboard is the process of scratching away multiple layers of India ink in varying degrees from a clay substrate. As more and more scratches are applied with mindfulness, an image is created. This piece depicting love and the relationship between a mother and her child was created using a No. 11 X-acto knife blade, a scalpel, fiber glass brush and tattoo needles.
