This painting started me on a series of paintings with children in moments of joy. This Sweetie has her favorite dress, jewelry, and sunglasses on. I feel in her mind she’s the cat’s meow! Every time I walk into my studio and see her, I smile. Near the end of painting her, I was painting a big abstract and it was on my easel. I perched her painting in front to see it from a distance. The colors and haphazard marks of the abstract felt so much like her that I duplicated it and mounted her to it. This painting started me on a series of paintings with children in moments of joy.
