Each summer we visit a family cabin, set amidst many other cabins belonging to family members. Because we're all related in some way, we often stop in to say hello at others' places and to catch up with people's lives. The cabins vary in size and style, with the earliest going in during the early part of the last century. Some remain electric-free, though all now have running water! They stretch out along a mile of sand along Lake Michigan's Old Mission Peninsula, and are our family's definition of heaven. Each has it's own personality, and I love trying to paint different interiors to try to capture each cabin's "soul."
