I’ve been drawn to the protea’s fierce elegance since my visit to Maui, and with "Petal Blaze," I sought to capture that same intensity and mystery. This 16 by 16 acrylic on ampersand panel reveals a flower that almost pulses with life—its elongated petals stretching outward like quiet flames, while a violet undercurrent anchors the energy at its core.
